Survey
Starting your survey.
If there is any evidence, or you suspect that you may have Japanese Knotweed on your property, or on a neighbouring property, it is vitally important that you seek professional advice, so that you can determine whether or not Japanese knotweed is present. A qualified Japanese knotweed surveyor can then do an assessment and determine the extent and severity of the infestation. The surveyor can provide advice and recommendations as to your effective next steps.
Initial identification service.
A cost free, initial, identification service is provided. This comprises of photographic analytics of the plants that of concern and also of the surrounding areas. If these are suspected of being Japanese knotweed a site survey will be recommended. The cost of this survey will be dependent on the size of the plot and the magnitude of the infestation. A written quotation will be generated that will be tailored to your specific needs.
Survey report.
Once a site survey has been completed, an extensive report is formulated that will detail.
- The reasons and purpose for the authorisation of the report.
- The areas of infestation, mapped on a CAD map of the site.
- The types and maturity of the infestation.
- Recommendations for the treatment/removal of the Japanese knotweed, dependent on the desired outcome required by the client.
The survey report will include.
- A complete and extensive site survey, carried out by an experienced CSJK qualified surveyor.
- An inspection of the surrounding area of the site (where applicable)
- A site plan indicating area of infestation.
- Survey photographs.
- RICs management category rating.
- Mortgage compliant
- Written quotation for any works instructed. (If needed)
Management plan
Based on the findings of the site survey, and the resulting report, a Japanese knotweed management plan can be developed. This plan will set out an ongoing strategy for how the infestation on your property will be treated and dealt with. This will recommend, according to the desired time constraints, and land usage, which treatments are to be used, i.e., herbicides, excavation and removal, burial on site or root barriers. And the time line and mythology of how these treatments will be achieved.
Mortgage lenders can, and very often do, demand evidence that a Japanese knotweed management plan and schedule of works is in place before they will agree to proceed with any application.
